I’m Kevin Kelly, the founder and leading director of our consulting and development team. Before I get into my background and qualifications, let me first share with you that this work is my passion. The reason I’m here is to connect with you for the common goal of growth and expansion through personal and business development. It’s my devotion and service to the world and I believe you’ll experience the difference when working with us.
My roots were well groomed at The University of Florida where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship. (Yes, Go Gators!) But, it was my life path that made it clear that the knowledge I gained, paired with my natural talents, was part of a broader career concept.
Simply put, I followed my passions. I worked hard to start, own, and operate a variety of small businesses, from service businesses like landscaping and event planning, to a custom electronics-integration company. I invested in several successful real estate ventures and I caught the crypto wave early, starting with Bitcoin in 2013. I was turned on to its revolutionary potential and never looked back, collecting endless hours of research and experience.
This is why today, Clover is a hub of creative potential for not only investing, but also technological advancement, business development, and real estate endeavors of all kinds. Basically, wherever the flow of technology and finance goes, so do we, and we make it better. It’s just what I like to do!
John has a doctorate level degree in the sciences. His crypto journey began at an odd time, the depths of the late 2018 bear market. He initially became interested at the peak of the ICO mania, but did not invest then, more out of luck than knowledge. The ICO collapse began just as he was going to invest. That event showed many crypto projects to be vaporware with a whitepaper, so gaining knowledge was critical prior to deploying any capital. He spent time researching and taking basic coding courses (Javascript, C++, then Solidity). Although not a coder, he felt that the best way to invest in new technology was to understand it on a fundamental level. Then, seeing the potential value of smart contracts even before many practical uses were available, he became a buy-and-hold investor in Ether. That all changed in the summer of 2020, when he engaged with the launch of Compound, the first yield farming protocol and the impetus of “Defi Summer.” Since then he has experimented broadly and continuously across decentralized finance. He helps manage small and large private portfolios locally. We are excited to offer his guidance through Clover.
